MEMBER INFORMATION

 

Firstly we will always need the following:

  • Your/the member's signed and completed Application to proceed (enclosed in the original transfer pack)

If you live in the United Kingdom, we do an electronic check to confirm your identity rather than asking you to send us original documents. This makes things easier for you and protects you against fraud. This check is only to confirm your identity.

If you do not want us to confirm your identity electronically, or you live outside the United Kingdom, please send us one of the following original documents:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Decree Absolute
  • Driver's License
  • Passport

Have your first or last names changed since birth? (e.g. through marriage or adoption)

No – (no further member information is required)
Yes – We will also require one of the following original documents

  • Marriage Certificate
  • Decree Absolute
  • Deed Poll Certificate

We recommend that any original documents are sent to us by recorded or special delivery. Original documents will be returned using the same method.

The form is not required for defined contribution pensions, sometimes known as ‘money purchase’ pensions where the money paid in by you or your employer is put into investments by the trustees. The amount you get when you come to take your pot depends on how much was paid in and how well the investments have done. The value of your pot can go up or down depending on your investments.

A defined benefit pension is sometimes known as ‘final salary’ or ‘career average’ pensions. How much you get depends on your salary, how long you’ve worked for your employer and a calculation made under the rules of your pension scheme. The benefits provided are also known as ‘safeguarded benefits’.
 

APPROPRIATE INDEPENDENT ADVICE (AIA) REQUIREMENT
 
Is the full transfer value of your / the member’s defined benefits (also known as safeguarded benefits) greater than £30,000? If yes it is a legal requirement that you / the member must take appropriate independent advice and provide evidence to the trustees before the transfer can take place (more information can be found within your transfer pack). To provide evidence please download and complete this form.

To secure your / the member’s statutory right to take the guaranteed transfer value we must receive the signed and completed Application to proceed form within the guarantee period. We must also receive the completed AIA form (where applicable) within three months of the date the Statement of Entitlement was sent so please provide both forms at the same time.

The receiving arrangement will need to complete one of the forms below, please see your application to proceed for guidance.

The receiving arrangement will also need to provide evidence of their HMRC registration. The transfer will not be able to progress without these additional documents.
 
Please note if your transfer is to an overseas pension provider then please contact us for the relevant forms. Please also note that additional information may be requested as part of the trustees’ due diligence process.
